Available to pre-order now on the Microsoft Store, the Kinect 2.0 sensor for PC launched on 15th July 2014 at a price of £159.00.

Expect to see some rather ingenious uses of the device as the original Kinect’s most impressive utilisation wasn’t so much the way it was used for the Xbox 360, but by individuals thinking outside the box and using the device for many non-gaming applications.

Kinect 2.0 comes without software but it is intended to be used with the Windows software development kit 2.0, which is licensed separately.

We have yet to hear about Microsoft’s official price for the Kinect 2.0 for Xbox One consoles, now that the camera is going to be bundled separately from the console itself.
